GLASZY WEDDING TRENDS 2016

We are so excited about this Wedding Season 2016!

First of, we want to say that your wedding is YOUR BIG DAY so DO YOU!

If you like green, purple or blue, please enjoy with the decor and the flowers AND HAVE FUN!

-> Just do not go with a trend because you've seen it on Pinterest.

Your wedding must reflect who you are, and you want to give to your guests a REAL Experience!

That said, we've noted some very interesting ideas RE: decor, flowers, ambiance and of course: MUSIC.

For this post, we will use pictures from our past weddings: real weddings, real brides & GROOMS and decor, yes because our clients are always forward and THE BEST!!!!

UNPLUGGED WEDDING

A wedding is the perfect time to disconnect. Encourage your loved ones to be 100% engaged in your celebration by keeping their phones in their bags. Even though it’s not commonplace, there is no need to by shy about your decision to have an unplugged wedding—embed it as part of your theme. And if you catch your guests sneaking one or two selfies, that’s okay too!

DECOR

* The Metallic are In: silver and golden will be seen everywhere, from table clothes to votive to frames, your wedding will shine in 2016.

Jillian & Adam-Botanical Garden- Encinitas- 8.21.15

* Bring some Special Memories to Your Wedding: It's all about THE EXPERIENCE! Personalize your wedding

A nice shelf with pictures of your families is always a great conversation piece for your guests!

Breanne & Chris- Darlington House- La Jolla- 9.26.15
Also, you can name your tables after places you visited together

Sophia & Andres - U.S GRANT- Downtown San Diego- 8.1.15

LIGHTS
* Emphasis the lighting, bring on the chandeliers to give a romantic touch to your Big Day

Taylor Jo & Ryan's Wedding- Santaluz Country Club- 3.14.15

Moroccan Lanterns are also a great way to bring some soft lighting throughout the night.

Sarah + Dave - Darlington House - La Jolla- 6.6.15

FLOWERS
Over mix them and play with simplicity. You can do all different center pieces for each of your tables, it's fun and creative

Sydney & Scott-  La Jolla Women's Club- 8.22.15

Jessica & Clint- Martin Johnson House- 4.11.15

Kayla + Johnny - Sherman Library and Gardens - Corona Del Mar- 10.17.15

Like Kayla, add greenery to your bouquet, it gives a touch of romanticism and softness.

FAMILY AND HERITAGE: Celebrate your Heritage and Honor It!

"If we know where we come from, we know who we are!' Severine McCarthy- ah ah ah

Don't hesitate to incorporate family traditions like a HORA, a POLKA, a LATIN Song, a Edith Piaf tune or any pastry typical from your background and close to your heart- it will touch your guests and they also will learn something about your background if they aren't familiar with it.

David & Swati - Del Mar Power House- 11.15.15

Jennifer & Doug - Darlington House - La Jolla- 10.3.15

DRINKS
- Signature Cocktail. For their wedding, Rex and Meghan used the Cocktail Tree from the Abbey Catering and Events Design and named the special cocktail after their dog!

Megan & Rex -The Darlington House - La Jolla- 7.11.15

- Rosé!!!
Tip from a French Girl: use a French Rosé from the South of France like a a rosé of Provence or a Tavel.
As we always mentioned to our clients we DO NOT DRINK when we work, but we appreciate for sure a Great Drink outside our events ;-)

This picture was taking actually at our house!

AND FINALLY THE MUSIC REPORT!!!
Give to your guests an experience, show them what you like..
Don't be afraid to mix it up as well.

Pre-Ceremony
Vitamin String Quartet:   the source for innovative string renditions of popular music.
They have a large catalog of various songs and it's fun for your guests who just arrived
Beach Vibes: Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Bob Marley etc..
Jazz Vibes
RnB Vibes

Reanne & LeVar - Cuvier Club - La Jolla- 9.5.15

It really depends on what you want!

Cocktail Hour: we can Mix It Up!
Cocktail Hour is time to mingle for your guests, it should be upbeat but not cut through conversations.
The songs should be recognizable, if you are into Indy Music, you can slide them in.
Cocktail Hour will set the mood for the reception

Dinner Music:
We like to start with slow songs and progressively, we increase the beat.
Towards the end of dinner and before formalities, we want to prep the guests for the party. We love having people dancing during dinner.

Dancefloor:

We want to play for EVERYBODY, from grandma to your 17 years old cousin !
We Know through our experience what your guests and yourselves like to dance to!

We have a great tool: it's called DJ Intelligence, choose YOUR MUST PLAY, PLAY IF POSSIBLE AND DO NOT PLAY, if you aren't into Katy Perry or Nicky Minaj we won't take it personally!

Kristi & Ryan - San Diego Museum of Art- 5.9.15

Lainey & Brandon -Cuvier Club - La Jolla- 9.4.15

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING AGAIN IS TO DO YOU !

We Just Want YOU To Have the Best Day Ever and See That Smile On Your Face
