We had the great pleasure to be hired last Saturday for Shannon & Bryan's wedding .

This couple was a perfect match for each other.

Shannon has the incredible and contagious positive energy, and Bryan is the quite and calm Navy Chief.

For their big day, they choose The Abbey Catering Team and The Cuvier Club to orchestrate their reception.

Petr Trebin from the Abbey Catering was their Master Coordinator.

The Ceremony was held at the Congregational Church in La Jolla.

Then , all the bridal party headed to the Cuvier Club for the Reception.

Shannon appeared in a well adjusted immaculate white dress, she was just stunning! A model!
Bryan looked very sharp too, and you could feel their love as he was staring at his beautiful newly wife!

The tone was set when the bride started with a "runners shot".
As Shannon is an avid San Diego runner (as well as most of her bridesmaids), a running picture was taken before the grand entrance.

The tone was set for a energetic and beautiful reception.

For the grand entrance we played 3 songs:
- Can't Hold Us- Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis- Bridal party
- Roar ( DallasK Remix) Katy Perry- Flower Girls
- Timber- Pitbull- Bryan & Shannon's sons & their dates followed by the Bride & Groom

- 1st dance: Here- Rascall Flatts

After dinner, the dance floor was so packed, that at the 2nd song, the guests started a massive Conga Line.

We had such a great time being part of these beautiful people's wedding.

Shannon & Bryan are an amazing couple, it was such a honor to be part of their wedding. We wish them a long life of love and happiness.

We were honored to be the entertainment for the 50th Golden Jubilee Gala at All Hallows Catholic School this past Saturday.

The Gala, held at the All Hallows' Parish Hall,  proved to be another amazing fundraising success as well as a good time had by all.
All Hallows Catholic School was funded in 1963 in La Jolla, so this 5oth anniversary was a very special celebration for the school.
Nothing would have been possible without the talented Mrs.Michelle Stys who orchestrated the Gala.
She transformed the Parish Hall into a beautiful and elegant room with the help of Mrs. Danielle McKay, chair person for the Gala.
The evening started with a silent auction with a lot of great gifts donated by the parents.
Then the live auction was entertained by Mr. Alson Cole.
Mr. Cole did a Fantastic job emceeing the auction for an hour and a half and raised a lot of funds for the students.
Mrs Platt, principal at Hallows School, gave a vibrant speech about the purpose of this fundraiser, and how the students would be benefiting from this special event.
We ended the night with some dancing.
We can't express enough our appreciation to Mrs. Stys and All Allows Academy for hiring us.

We had the great pleasure to be invited by Petr Trebin and Zapher Dajani from The Abbey Catering & Event Design team, to be one of their DJ for their Bridal Show "Science of Love".

The Abbey Catering & Event Design is  a 3 years running winner of the A-List Awards for San Diego's Best Caterer & Event Planners & Winner of 2013 The Knot's Best Pick of Wedding Caterers.

The Science of Love Bridal fair was held at The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center   in the heart of Balboa Park.

This Science Center is a magical setting for group events of all sizes.

The Fleet is an ideal location for weddings that are original and fun. If you love science it's a perfect setting to capture the imagination of your guests!
You can contact Debbie Lowery-Cunning and Beth Solomon the Museum' Special Events Managers. They are awesome and would help you with more information!

We were located in the Lounge area where we decided to set the mood with a mix of slow, loungy songs: Moby, Morcheeba, Ibiza del Mar Cafe or Hotel Costes from Paris.

We had a great time to meet all the present vendors and future brides and grooms.

We worked to meet and talk with each bride that came by our table.

We love to speak with people, get to know when and where they are getting married and how they got engaged.

Yes, DJing is fun, but what we love about specializing in weddings is that we get to be a part of someone else’s love story.  There is a joy in a newly engaged couple getting ready to embark on the journey of marriage.

We LOVE getting to share in their special day and want to get to know each couple personally.

It is once the show is over that Ryan and I love to reflect on the day.
We share stories of brides we met, smile about stories we heard, and look forward to speaking to brides the next day about their wedding.
We are always pleased to find emails in our inbox, voicemails on our phone and new likes on our Facebook page.

We love, love, love being apart of weddings!

And we would love to be a part of yours.  Please contact us with any questions you may have and let us know how we can help make your special day memorable.

SAY I DO WITH A BAY VIEW!

We had the great honor to be choosen to be one of the prefered vendors during the Bahia Resort Hotel’s Annual Engagement Party event at Bahia Hotel Resort in Mission Bay.

We were located aboard the William D. Evans Sternwheeler.

It was a perfect day to showcase our equipment and services.

Most of the couples present at the event, had already booked one of the different ballrooms for their wedding. They were "shopping" for their vendors: photobooth, cake, photographers, videographers, florist or DJ....

We want to thank all the beautiful couples who stopped by our DJ booth, the Bahia Events Departement: Macarena, Beth, Kadi and all the staff.

And also all the vendors who fed us with their delicious cakes and cupcakes!

Once again, we were thrilled to return to All Hallows Academy to entertain the 7th & 8th graders for their annual Winter Dance.

It felt so good to be back!

The great advantage of returning events, is, the kids as they know us & our style, there's no weird starting time moment.

As soon as they get to the venue, boys and girls ran to the dancefloor.

For each event, we asked them to send their favorites songs requests.

These kids, the Generation Z, are extremely connected, so for us it's crucial to play exactly what they listen to. They love Electronic Music.

I find fascinating that they are on top of the Trends as such a young age!

Here are some the songs we played!
Animals by Martin Garrix
Everybody Talks
Survival
Pursuit of Happiness (party edition)
Heads will roll by yeah yeah yeah
Video Games Lana Del Rey
National Anthem Lana Del Rey
I Knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift
Latch by Disclosure
Safe and Sound by Capital Cities
Happy by Pharrell Williams
Back in Time by Pitbull
Some Nights by Fun
Get Free by Major Lazer
Shots
Treasure by Bruno Mars
Timber by Ke$ha
Ooh Killem
Sail by Awolnation
Come and get it by Selena Gomez
Slow Down  by Selena Gomez
Dark Horse by Katy Perry
Heads will roll by yeah yeah yeah
Boy oh Boy by Diplo
Latch by Disclosure
Lets make nasty by Afro jack
Monster by Eminem
Teenage Crime
What Now by Rihanna
Something Good Can Work by Two Door Cinema Club
Turn Down for What by DJ Snake
Switch Lanes
Counting Stars by One Republic

We also had a limbo!
And did some dances: Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle and even the Macarena, requested by one of the students!

Again, it was a night of fun at All Hallows Academy, and for sure the memories will last forever!

A special thanks to Mrs. Mary Alice Fares, the kids' teacher and Mrs. Mary Skeen, Vice Principal for organizing and chaperoning the evening!

2014 is already looking very good, and we met a lot of new "Glaszy" future Brides & Grooms.

During our meetings, we always create a customized timeline for the wedding, and a lot of our new couples wonder what to play for their Grand Entrance.

It seems that the first dance is always decided far in advance, but the Bridal Party and the Bride & Groom's Grand Entrances aren't so often discussed.

Today we’ll be focusing on the instant that will define your wedding reception.

The Grand Entrance can ensure that your reception will get off to a great start and set the mood for the rest of the evening.

Pre-Plan

Before filling out that planner for your DJ, you need to decide how you want your reception to look and feel.
It’s always a good idea to stay within your personality and feel completely comfortable with your event.

Many people choose to use a hype song for the wedding party to be introduced. This really makes a statement and tells your guests that we are here to have a good time tonight!

Here are some examples of songs to make an energetic Grand Entrance:

We Will Rock You – Queen
Get Ready For This – 2 Unlimited
Beautiful Day – U2
Forever – Chris Brown
It’s My Life – Bon Jovi
More – Usher
Let’s Get It Started – Black Eyed Peas
Viva La Vida – Coldplay
Glad You Came – The Wanted
Give Me Everything – Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer
Feel So Close – Calvin Harris
Tonight Is The Night – Outasight
Evacuate The Dance Floor, Cascada
On The Floor, Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull
Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor), Pitbull featuring T-Pain
Crazy In Love, Beyonce
Party Rock Anthem, LMFAO
Good Feeling, Flo RIda

What about a low-key entrance?

We’ve done many Grand Entrances that consist of a basic introduction of the Bride and Groom. Either way you choose, your entrance should be a mood setter and should always be an uplifting moment for your guests, as it is typically their first chance to see the newly married couple.

Sometimes music is involved to add to the mood and other times there’s no background audio, with total focus on the Bride and Groom. It all depends on what mood you want to set.

Make it your day…

Ultimately, how you choose to be introduced to your guests should be up to you.  Whether it’s an arena announcer introducing the wedding party starting line-up or just a casual announcement that the Bride and Groom have arrived, use your Grand Entrance to put a stamp on your reception and make it your day!
